Adult Fitness: Body Beast Review
Adult Fitness: Body Beast Review
Body Beast is a 90 day, 3 Phase program BUILD, BULK, and BEAST, consisting of 12 workouts and is designed for one primary purpose…getting you big. Unlike other programs such as P90X or Insanity, Body Beast is strictly focused on muscle growth. A lot of people may be thinking that gaining mass using at home DVD exercise videos is impossible. Well, the same thing was said about Beachbody’s best-selling workout program P90X. People used to believe there was no way to get ripped without a gym, and P90X has put that myth to rest, and the BODY BEAST workout is going to put the belief that you can’t gain mass without a gym to rest as well. The program uses Dynamic Set Training™ that will fatigue your muscles more than you ever thought possible with Single Sets, Super Set, Giant Sets, Progressive Sets, Drop Sets, Tempo Sets, and more. In return, your muscles reward you by getting huge!
To be a Beast you need to eat like a Beast. The nutrition plan in the Book of Beast is very well done. It lays out clear calculations to find your caloric need for bulking. You recalculate your #’s after each phase to account for muscle and weight gain. At the end of the BULK phase you transition to a slight deficit (depending on your BF%) for the BEAST phase. This allows you to cut for the final 3-4 weeks to lean out and expose a little more of your Beastly gains.
The macro-nutrient breakdowns for the BUILD and BULK phase are the same 25/50/25, 25% protein, 50% carbs, and 25% fats. Your caloric need is figured off of your lean body mass (LBM), resting metabolic rate (RMR), daily activity, workout activity (calories to maintain weight) and a surplus from 10-20%. For the final BEAST phase, you transition to a more standard 40/30/30, 40% protein, 30% carbs, and 30% fats. That eating plan is closer to the P90X and P90X2 eating plans. There is also a portion plan for Body Beast, much like P90X and P90X2.
Body Beast also has its own line of recommended supplements to use during the program. The 4 supplements are Fuel Shot, Base Shake, Super Suma, and Creatine. All 4 supplements are explained in more detail here . Body Beast Supplements!!!
